Vintage from the Vault Vol. 6Oakville Grenache and The Ace of Cups

$395.00

When Phil signed on to redevelop and farm the iconic Oakville Ranch
Vineyards, it marked a momentous and unexpected milestone for Enterprise
Vineyards—the Sonoma organic hippie making waves in the rarified air of
the Oakville District. But it didn’t take long for Phil and EV to feel
right at home on the rocky slopes of Oakville Ranch. As the vineyard
transformed into a modern organic masterpiece, there was clearly just
one thing missing: Grenache. So naturally, we did the rare and
unexpected—we planted a few acres.

Over the years, we’ve bottled this wine under a couple of different
names—first as a varietal in 2014, then starting in 2018 as part of À
Deux Têtes, the collaboration between Phil, Philippe Cambie, and Isabel
Gassier. Like the vineyard itself, the packaging has evolved and the
vintages have varied, but the soul of the wine hasn’t budged:
expressive, layered, and proudly nonconformist.
For the sixth edition of Vintage from the Vault, we're featuring a vertical of Oakville Grenache:
2017 Oakville Grenache – Bold and structured, packed with Rhône spice, still vibrant and energetic.
2018 À Deux Têtes Oakville Grenache – Seamless, savory, and dialed-in, the result of perfect collaboration.
2019 À Deux Têtes Oakville Grenache – Wild and untamed. Floral, feral, and proudly Grenache.

And what album ties it all together?
The Ace of Cups.

Not just a band—a musical vanguard. An all-women psychedelic rock group
from San Francisco, The Ace of Cups shared stages with all the legends
of the era, including the Grateful Dead. But their debut album? Never
released.

Until decades later, when High Moon Records finally gave them the
platform they always deserved. The Ace of Cups on vinyl: rare and
unexpected—just like Grenache from Cabernet country.

There’s poetry in this pairing: a band that history almost forgot, and a
wine grown in the unlikeliest of places. Both took time, patience, and a
little cosmic alignment to find their moment. Unexpected. Rare.
Entirely worth the wait.
